Donate Books and Support an Atlanta Area Kidney Disease Charity

Donate BooksWhen you donate books, clothing, and used household items to American Kidney Services (AKS), you’re supporting an Atlanta charity that has been fighting the battle against kidney disease since 2004. In conjunction with the American Kidney Fund, we use the proceeds generated from your generous donations to lend direct financial assistance to patients suffering from this debilitating illness.

Atlanta residents just like you don’t realize how easy it is to donate books and other used items. Whether you’ve got a stack of biographies shoved in the closet or a shelf full of novels you’ve already read, these are valuable items that make wonderful charity donations. Simply sort through your shelves, basement, closet, or attic and find all the books you haven’t picked up in a while. These could be anything from school textbooks to history books to paperback romances – AKS welcomes all used book donations.

When you donate books, keep in mind that we also accept the following items:

  • Men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing
  • Silverware, glassware, plates, and serving dishes
  • Small kitchen appliances and electrical items
  • Miscellaneous decorative items
  • Drapes, bedding, and other linen
  • Televisions, CD players, DVD players, radios
  • And more

When you’re ready to donate books or any other items to our charity, your charitable donations are tax deductible*. Simply take your donation to any of our donation centers, which include our 24/7 donation drop off boxes and our storefront location in Atlanta, or Value Village locations. Residents of Atlanta, Buckhead, Buford, Suwanee, Tucker, and all surrounding areas can also sign up online or call 770-441-2220 to request a donation pick up.
